Visitor Visa Extension

Before filling out this application, gather and be prepared to upload a scanned version of the following documents to facilitate the smooth processing of your Visa Application:

  • Letter from the applicant addressed to the Head of Immigration and Support Services, requesting an Extension of Stay
  • Evidence of finance to cover extended stay in Guyana
  • Spouse birth certificate if born in Guyana
  • Children birth certificates if born in Guyana
  • Marriage certificate
  • Passport photo of Applicant
  • Copy of Applicant's entire passport including all stamps
  • Sponsor's passport

Notes

  • We only accept uploads in the following formats: pdf, jpeg, jpg, and png.
  • The application processing fee for the Extension of Stay Visitor Visa is $5,125 GYD.
  • All monies are payable in cash or the manager's cheque and addressed to:

    • Permanent Secretary,
    Ministry of Home Affairs

  • In a situation where an applicant is given an extension exceeding three (3) months, the processing fee will be $28,700 GYD.
  • A maximum of two (2) Extension of Stay will be granted.
  • Each extension will be a period of three (3) months.
  • Once your application is filled and submitted, a reference number will be provided to check on its status.

Photo Requirements

  • Dimensions: The image dimensions must be in a square aspect ratio (height must be equal to width). Minimum acceptable dimensions are 600 x 600 pixels. Maximum acceptable dimensions are 1200 x 1200 pixels. Please review photo requirements for specific dimensions.
  • Color: The image must be in color (24 bits per pixel) in sRGB color space, which is the common output for most digital cameras.
  • File Format: The image must be in JPEG file format.
  • File Size: The image must be less than or equal to 240 kB (kilobytes).
  • Compression: The image may need to be compressed to be under the maximum file size. The compression ratio should be less than or equal to 20:1.

Want to scan an existing photo?

In addition to the digital image requirements, your existing photo must be:

  • 2 x 2 inches (51 x 51 mm)
  • Scanned at a resolution of 300 pixels per inch (12 pixels per millimeter)
